Arrivals and Departures

GRADUATE STUDENTS:

Gabbrielle Johnson completed her dissertation entitled Cognition and the Structure of Bias. Beginning in the fall 2019, she will be a Bersoff Faculty Fellow at New York University (postdoctoral fellowship).

Lauren Schaeffer completed her dissertation entitled Oppression and Resistance. She is currently a UCLA lecturer.

 

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWS:

Arrivals:

Rose Lenehan will join the department  as  a  Postdoctoral Fellow in Philosophy this fall after completing her dissertation  at MIT on Racial Exploitation, Reparations, and Racial Capitalism. She works on philosophy of race, social and political philosophy, feminist philosophy, andethics.

Matthew Harris will join us as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Philosophy after completing his dissertation at Duke University, entitled Continents in Cognition. He works on philosophy of race, personal identity, and related issues in philosophy of mind.

Departure:

Erik Encarnacion, Law and Philosophy postdoctoral fellow, is leaving to take up a position as a Professor of Law at the University of Texas at Austin.

 

STAFF:

Arrivals:

Belen Garcia joins us as the  new  department  coordinator. An alumna of UCLA, she graduated in December 2018 with  a degree in Political Science, and previously worked at the UCLA School of Law.

Ellen Evaristo joins the department as the program and media manager. Previously with the California Institute of the Arts, she has a B.A. in Mass Communications from Pennsylvania State University and a Masters in Communication

Departure:

Ryan Tran, department coordinator, left the department and is currently with the Broad Foundation.
