Alison Fitch is a privacy compliance program manager at GoodRx with a background in research ethics, and Ashley Feinsinger is a UCLA assistant professor of neurosurgery and the PI at a neuroethics research lab. They’ll discuss their careers and answer any questions you might have about pursuing similar paths.

Meet the Speakers
Alison Fitch
Privacy Compliance Program Manager, GoodRx
Currently a Privacy Compliance Program Manager at GoodRx, Alison began her career at a law firm before moving into research ethics and privacy at 23andMe. A Philosophy graduate of UCLA’s Class of 2018, she’s spent her career at the intersection of philosophy, law, and data privacy, translating ethical best practices and regulatory requirements into compliance programs. Based in San Francisco, she recharges with yoga, ballet, and walking her dog through her favorite spots in the city.
Ashley Feinsinger
Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery, UCLA
Ashley Feinsinger, PhD, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and affiliated faculty in the Center for Social Medicine and the Brain Research Institute. She received her PhD and MA in philosophy from UCLA, specializing in philosophy of language. Currently, her research examines the relevance of various philosophical concepts for ethical neuroscience research, including lived-experience, benefit, and trust in basic research and neural device development. This work can be found in Neuron, Nature Human Behavior, Hastings Center Report, AJOB Neuroscience, Neurosurgery, Journal of Medical Ethics, and Neuroethics. She is also the Ethics Theme Chair for medical education at DGSOM and Co-Director the UCLA-CDU Dana Center for Neuroscience and Society.
