Please join us on Friday, May 24th, 2024 at 4:00 PM in Dodd Hall 399 for the 2024 Meditations Journal Conference.

In 2014, the Philosophy Club at UCLA proudly hosted its first conference on behalf of Meditations: The Undergraduate Journal of Philosophy at UCLA. All participating authors and editors of the journal are undergraduate students who have dedicated several months to this philosophical project. This conference is an exciting opportunity to honor their hard work and hear them present their original ideas.

Conference Program

4:00 – 4:15 PM: Introductory Remarks: Brendan Bacon

4:15 – 4:45 PM: Mingwei Zhu: “The Paradox of Connectivity: Social Media, the Erosion of Individuality, and the World”

4:45 – 5:15 PM: Quinton Wood: “Metaphors and Understanding in Quality Space Theory”

5:15 – 5:45 PM: Bora Barut: “The Problems of Abstracting Thinking in the Categorical Imperative”

5:45 PM: Catered Dinner
