Considering a career in academia after earning your Philosophy degree? Join us for an in-person career panel with UCLA Philosophy alumni who now have careers as professors of philosophy at CSU Northridge and Occidental College!
Kristina Meshelski (CSU Northridge) and Milo Crimi (Occidental College) will discuss the paths they took to get where they are now, give tips and advice, and answer any specific questions you may have regarding a career as a professor of philosophy. If you’re interested in pursuing a career in academia, you won’t want to miss this session!
The panel will run from 6pm – 7pm followed by a reception where you can chat with the panelists over some pizza!

Meet the Speakers
Kristina Meshelski
Professor and Department Chair, Philosophy
California State University, Northridge
Kristina Meshelski received her BA from UCLA in 2003, and her PhD from University of Virginia in 2011.
She specializes in Social and Political Philosophy. She has published on Spinoza, John Rawls, affirmative action, nonideal theory, procedural justice, and housing policy. She is currently thinking about housing, territory, and property rights.
Milo Crimi
Visiting Assistant Professor
Occidental College
Milo received a PhD in Philosophy from UCLA in 2020 and currently teaches logic and history of philosophy at Occidental College.
