I’m originally from Bellevue, Washington. I attended Dickinson College where I ran cross-country and discovered my love of philosophy my junior year. Upon graduating, I attended University of Houston where I received my MA. I am primarily interested in moral psychology, social epistemology, and feminist philosophy. Within epistemology, I’m primarily interested in defending the thesis that we ought to defer to marginalized speakers when providing identity-relevant testimony not out of moral obligation, but because it is the epistemically rational thing to do. Additionally, I am broadly interested in exploring how our emotional lives facilitate our sociality both epistemically and within our moral psychology. Currently I am co-authoring a paper with Justin Coates on how feelings of ambivalence can lead to self-knowledge important to achieving an authentic kind of freedom. When I’m not philosophizing I like to run, make art, and go to concerts.
