Area of Interest: Philosophy of Mind, AI, Language, and CogSci
I primarily work in philosophy of mind and language with special interests in cognition in AI systems and the relationship between various sub-personal cognitive mechanisms and the phenomenology of agency. Before turning to academic philosophy, I studied computer science and spent a decade in Silicon Valley as a software engineer and entrepreneur. Outside of philosophy, I spend most of my time discovering novel ways to screw up raising my daughter Gertie.
