What was your first job or endeavor after UCLA?
My first paid job after graduating from UCLA was as a research assistant at the Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT) which is a leader in artificial intelligence, graphics, virtual reality and narrative advance low-cost immersive techniques and technologies to solve problems facing service members, students, and society.
I have been a member of the Narrative Group at ICT, which is a team of neuroscientists, computer scientists, psychologists and linguists investigating storytelling and the human mind through cross-cultural exploration of how people interpret and narrate their experiences and life events by conducting neuroimaging, computational and behavioral experiments.
What lessons or skills from philosophy do you use in your career?
The most invaluable skills one can take away from an education in philosophy to almost any career path are critical thinking, logical reasoning, and writing skills.
